Have you read 'The Long Tail' yet? The most interesting part was the "history of long-tail economics," which involved Sears/Roebuck, then supermarkets, before turning into the Ultimate Internet Economy Juggernaut-thing the long tail represents now. Anyhow, I have a copy if you want to come to NYC someday and borrow it.
